Group Sales Account Manager is responsible to develop and maintain relationships with existing and new group customers. Create and deliver comprehensive group proposals in a timely manner, secure group contracts, and transition sold groups to the Group Operations team.
Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Actively pursue new group business and identify opportunities to acquire new leads
  • Convert incoming leads that are received through an opportunity dashboard and incoming calls
  • Answer sales calls that are received from the group sales phone queue
  • Establish strong relationship with group leaders by maintaining trust and rapport
  • Create proposals including air and land components, itinerary, costs, prices, and terms & conditions
  • Secure a signed contract and required deposits
  • Coordinate with the relevant departments to confirm air, hotel, and cruise space
  • Maintain group system, including completing a group profile, updating confirmation of air, hotel, and cruise space
  • Transition timely and accurate group files to Operations. Support Group Operations with pricing updates and additional services
  • Contact group leaders post tour to generate new sales opportunities
  • Compile reports regarding sales activities and monitors progress toward established sales goals
  • Assists with the development of sales plans and with efforts to market and promote group tours
  • Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary for the successful completion of the role

High school diploma or GED

  • At least 5 years of sales experience in the travel industry or similar
  • Experience in group travel, is preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills with a customer-oriented way of thinking
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet and/or exceed established sales targets
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to use independent judgment to analyze and resolve problems
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word & Excel
